First Woman and Family Festival in 2006 (1-15) April 2006
Dr. Eng Tammer Al Hejeh, Governor of Aleppo, and Mr. Abdulkader Al Masry announced the opening of the first Woman & Family Festival. The festival was under the sponsorship of the Committee of Businesswomen in Aleppo on Aleppo's Industrial & Agricultural Market.
There were 60 sections in the exhibition; they demonstrated different products from women foundations and charities such as hand crafts, antiques and accessories.
Mrs. Lena Ashrafya, president of the committee, said that the exhibition is one of the activities of celebrating the election of Aleppo as the capital of Islamic culture.
She also added that the exhibition will help in showing the abilities of Syrian women.
The exhibition had a special section for women and family magazines and an art gallery.
During the festival days several lectures and conferences were arranged. The lectures spoke about different subjects (Fashion, Cosmetics, health, diets, and plastic surgeries
